A National Post story (“More MDs recouping some fees”, Oct.10, 2007) quoted Michael McBane of the Canadian Healthcare Coalition, a union-backed promoter of universal healthcare saying: “Doctors should be on salary and work for a team, rather than bill piecemeal, procedure for procedure”.

Yes, Comrade, let’s force doctors - and all workers in Ontario, for that matter, professional or not - to work for a salary, preferably in state-run nationalized “businesses”. That’ll nicely solve everything for everybody, wouldn’t it? Unbelievable!
